Boxwood hosted Phaphama SEDI’s second Lion’s Den event of the year, offering a dynamic platform for entrepreneurs to sharpen their skills and elevate their business plans. This year’s two-round format provided participants with invaluable opportunities to refine their pitches, thanks to insightful feedback from our dedicated consultants. The result? An impressive improvement in presentation quality, making it a tough call for our judges to select the winners!

After the preliminary round, each entrepreneur received R2,000 to invest strategically in their business, guided by insights from our experienced consultants. In the final round, R10,000 and R7,000 respectively were awarded to the winners and runners-up in categories such as Best Pitch, Best Business Plan, and Most Promising Business.

Congratulations to all participants, especially to our winners! We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our consultants for their dedication in preparing the entrepreneurs and to our Round 2 judges – Qayisani Dlakana, Sarah Divaris, Fayaz Dhorat, and Thembalethu Hadebe – for their thoughtful evaluations. Special thanks to Janine Rutsch and Pam Sneddon for their valuable support in reviewing the business plans and to the entire Phaphama SEDI team for the collaboration.

At Boxwood Property Fund, we are committed to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and amplifying our impact through initiatives like Lion’s Den.
