Kane not only wants to give these buildings a new lease on life but to help make them stand out from those around them and revolutionise the way people in Cape Town experience them.

He speaks to CapeTalk’s Kieno Kammies about the plans he has for some of these buildings.

We spent a total of about R1.3 billion and I think we looking at spending another R3 million to upgrade the buildings and get them to the standard we think will attract tenants.

I was lucky enough at the beginning of the year to spend some time in Barcelona and it’s a beautiful city. When you around you can’t help but be enchanted by it and I think we have the same potential right here.
