Rob retired as CEO of JSE listed Texton Property Fund Limited (formerly VPIF) in mid-2015 which he started in 2006 and then listed on the JSE in 2011. Since inception, Rob grew the Fund to an asset value of R5.5bn comprising 350,000m2 of commercial, retail and industrial buildings throughout South Africa. In 2014 Rob diversified the business offshore and the fund had 25% of its asset base in the UK. In the same year he concluded a BEE transaction placing 26% of the listed shares in black hands.
In addition, Rob is the non-executive Chair of the Cape Town City Improvement District (CCID), a Public Private Partnership which is responsible for public safety, urban management, social development and PR/Communications. The CCID is accepted as the organization primarily responsible for the turnaround of Cape Town CBD. Rob sits on the South African Property Owners Western Cape Committee and is an occasional lecturer at UCT.
Rob holds a B.Sc. Civil Engineering degree from UCT and an MBA from Bath University, UK.
John is the Founding Partner and Chair of Third Way Investment Partners. He was the youngest CEO of a JSE listed company when he was at GAIA Infrastructure Capital. John is the former Principal Executive Officer (PEO) of the GEPF. John also serves on a number of key strategic industry initiatives including being the Chairman of the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA), as well serving as a member of the PRI Advisory council. He was key to the establishment of CRISA which is hailed as one of the best in the world. He was recognized by Batseta Council of Retirement Funds (previously known as POA) as Industry Person of the year in financial services in 2012. In the same year, he was recognised by The Mail and Guardian as one of the Top 200 young South Africans for his contribution in the world of Pensions. In 2013 he was named Africa's Top Emerging leader by Africa Investor.
John holds a BSc (Actuarial Science & Mathematical Statistics), BSc(Hons) Advanced Mathematics of Finance, and MSc Finance (Economic Policy).
Sarah has been with Boxwood since inception as Head of Asset Management. Her core functions include acquisition selection, negotiation, due diligence, redevelopment and tenant liaison. Her most recent project was the upgrade of Picbel Parkade retail mall and parking garage, which achieved a 20% and 70% uplift in income respectively. Sarah has also undertaken much of Boxwood's research into various markets and it was her work that identified the impending demand for Cape Town CBD offices.
Sarah has previous experience in investment management and compliance both locally and offshore. She is known for her ability to deliver, her creativity and her deep analytical skills.
Sarah is a CFA Level III Candidate and holds a B.Bus.Sc (Finance) and Bcom (Economics).
Amanda is relatively new to Boxwood but has had an extensive career in finance. In her previous role at MCI SA, she was fully responsible for the finance department in the region, including treasury, financials and audit. Amanda was also pivotal in the onboarding of Shell Global Customer Services Centre in Cape Town by managing the HR, finance and legal.
Amanda holds her CIMA qualification from the Charted Institute of Management Accountants.
